Overview

Founded in 2007, Bengal Energy Ltd (BEL) is a ISO 9001-2008 certified company which has signed an MOU with the Government of West Bengal to setup a 0.5 MTPA Steel Unit.

Salient features of the MOU comprises -

1.2 million tonnes per annum capacity Non-Recovery type Coke Oven plant with 80 MW of Waste Heat Recovery Power Generation.

2x35 MV Power Plant based on 2x0.6 million tonnes per annum capacity Non Recovery Coke Oven plant waste gases.

33 MVA Ferro Alloy plant with a cutting edge technology

2x500 TPD capacity rotary kilns to produce 300,000 tonnes per annum of Sponge Iron.

1x320 Cum Blast Furnace for producing Hot Metal and Pig Iron.

1x35 MW power plant utilizing for rotary kiln off-gases, BF gas and Ferro Alloys waste heat recovery

1x35 MW Power Plant based on AFBC Boilers.

1x25 square meter Sinter Plant for production of Sinter.

With the present 0.6 MTPA LAM coke production, BEL is the largest merchant LAM coke producer in eastern India.
